A study of aspects of rāga

Автор, в частности, приводит глоссу из Дхаммасангани:

Tattha katamo lobho: yo rāgo sārāgo anunayo anurodho nandi nandirāgo cittassa sārāgo icchā mucchā ajjhosānaṃ gedho parigedho saṅgo paṅko ejā māyā janikā sañjananī sibbanī jālinī saritā visattikā ...

Aṭṭhasālini, a commentary on the Dhammasaṅgaṇi, explains the various terms given above in the Pali quotation which defines lobha. Rāga is explained as rañjanavasena rāgo "that which finds pleasure or excitement is rāga." Literally, the root rañj means 'to colour', 'to dye'. Thus rāga colours, stains the mind and therefore it is a defilement. It is used in the sense of 'attachment', 'enamouring of'.

...

In the Abhidharmakośa-Vyākhya, the difference between chanda and rāga is explained. Chanda is a future desire (anāgate'rthe prārthana) and rāga is attachment (adhyavasānaṁ) to what one possesses.

In the Arthaviniścaya-Nibandhana in the section of the four noble truths (catvāry āryasatyāni), while explaining the second truth viz. samudayasatya (the truth of arising of suffering), the commentator gives a good comment on nandīrāga. He explains nandī (delight) as defiled happiness (kliṣṭa-saumanasya) and rāga as a characteristic of attachment (saktilakṣaṇa). Also it is said that nandī and rāga are present alternatively (paryāyeṇa) when craving (tṛṣṇā) is endowed with nandī and rāga (nandīrāga-sahagatā).
